“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18, KJV

Glue-sniffing boys. Girls who sell their bodies in order to eat and provide for their families. Students who want to learn but cannot afford an education. Burnt out pastors. Men who work too hard and starve to death. Grieving widows. Parents who have contracted AIDS. Families who need health care. Thousands of orphans . . .

One man with the vision to make a difference.

“I want to save the community that is desperate, dying, and without hope.”

Meet Pastor Benard Ondiek, the modern-day Billy Graham of Kenya. Born and raised in the remote village of Wachara, he determined at a young age that he needed to do something with his life.

"My father understood the value of education and became a watch-man in order to fund part of my schooling. For many years, I walked six miles one-way to school without shoes or a bag for my books. It was a difficult time, but growing up in a community immersed in suffering motivated me to be part of the solution that would change lives.”

Pastor BenardBenard’s Vision: The Quest of a Kenyan Pastor depicts the beautiful story of one ordinary man’s survival, dedication, and great compassion for the Kenyan people. Compelled by love, Benard Ondiek risks everything to become God’s catalyst for change as he rescues his community – once dying and desperate but now shining with hope.

Even as a boy, Benard understood the value of education and determined to get one at any cost so that he could one day better the lives of his people. His story comes alive with a terrifying escape through the jungle, a sweet romance, and an inspiring friendship.
